This was my first 10k and I loved it!!! I finished it in 1 hour 1 min 29 seconds (avg 9:54/mile). I was pretty sore the next day seeing that I didn't train for this or work my way up to six miles. Running with the mp3 player and the down hill parts really helped. Some friends of mine found a marathon relay. You put together teams of 5 and run a marathon. It's in Sept at Thanksgiving point and I'm looking forward to participating in that.
Miles at the Days of '47 rodeo. He watched it for about 20 min and then decided he needed to crawl around. Good thing we were in a suite that night (courtesy of Plaza cycle) so there was a place for him to hang out.
Miles and dad hanging out in the suite.
This was as we were leaving the Bar-B-Que at grandma and grandpa Hurst's house. Mom needed a little fuel to keep her going seeing that she had been up since 4:30 am. Dad and Miles were also up early. They met me at the finish line at Liberty park. They got there about 6:30 am to see me run in. It was a long but wonderful day.

Our little sharkey is getting big. This is Miles new bath towel. His other bath towels were getting too small to wrap around him.

This week went by fast. I can hardly remember what we did everyday. On Thursday Miles and I went up to girls camp for a few hours. He was very busy the whole time....being passed around by all the YW, crawling around in and eating the dirt, pulling and eating the leaves off the trees..... He fell asleep about 30 seconds after we got him back in the car to go home. And that was a pleasant change because he screamed the whole way up.

While Miles and I were busy up at camp, John was busy studying for the LSAT. He went up to the U of U library to study because I think it gets him back in the groove. Plus, I think he misses being a student and feeling all intellectual.

We hope you all have a wonderful week. I'll try to remember more of what we do all day so I have more to write. Of course, that would mean my brain needs to function better and that would require more sleep. Oh yes, I forgot... how could I??? Miles is getting his upper teeth. One of them broke through a couple days ago and the other one is really close. For two weeks he actually slept really well. But the last three nights, not so much. Hopefully he'll get back into a better sleeping pattern soon.

Love to you all! -the watsons

Miles trying on glasses. We hope he likes them because if his vision is anything like his parents, he's going to need them the rest of his life.

Miles with his cousin Tanner wearing their matching ties.
We celebrated Grace's(Miles other cousin)) birthday today. She turned 4...... going on 14 :)

This week has been wonderful! Miles has slept well every night this last week. What a difference it makes in all of us. I can't believe how fast he is developing! Last week Miles was starting to pull himself up on everything. This week he's not only pulling himself up but he's letting go and trying to stand on his own. I can hardly keep up with him. The only time he stops to take a breather is when he's pooping, and that lasts 2 minutes. Then, it's off to the races again.

John is still working a ton at his job and doing well. He is either a really hard worker, or a really great salesman (maybe a little of both). He leaves for work about 8:30am and comes home between 7:30 and 8:00pm every night. And even after that long day, he's ready and willing to help with Miles. He is such a great dad, and Miles loves seeing him when he come home from work. Maybe that's because dad is actually fun, and by that time mom has just enough energy left to make sure Miles doesn't get seriously injured, let a lone throw him up in the air and catch him like dad does.

As for me, I am trying to get some running in. I signed up for the 10k on July 24th. That should be interesting seeing that I haven't gone more than 4 miles since high school. I will be running it with my cousin Alan and Wes. Speaking of Wes, Congrats on his Mission call to Ghana! We are ghana miss you. Ghana are the days of your mother's great cooking! You're ghana make a great missionary!!!

We hope everyone has a great week! We'll write again next Sunday. Love to everyone!!!!!

Dad and Miles looking at the rushing water, on what seems to be our weekly Thursday hike.
Us waiting for the little bambino to wake up for the hike. I do not under stand the whole head lean in thing but Wendy says its cute.

Proof that Miles isn't always smiling. He knows what he wants and doesn't want, and when he doesn't want to be in his exersaucer, this is what he does until we pick him up.
Miles with his friend Kate. She is 5 weeks older than Miles. They live in North Carolina and were out here for a visit.
Miles was very embarrassed about this picture. "Wait, wait, I'm not presentable. I have peaches all over my face." he said
Miles in his new bath tub. He thinks his older cousin Jackson is so cool with his blow up tub that we had to get one too. Miles really liked it!

Teeth

This is a great shot of Miles and his new teeth. He is really starting to look like a little boy Miles is UP UP UP and away in the outer atmosphere. He would be at the top of the page, if this pic showed him. Great grandma Hurst did not like this.

Breakfast at Silverfork lodge
Pics from our hike at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Miles loved his new ride! Mom tried to carry Miles and she almost toppled over, so dad carried him both ways.
